Title: “Fluffie”
Subtitle: “used up, abandoned and nowhere to go” Recently I pulled out one of my wisdom tooth’s Anyways I almost forgot. This is a photo manipulation using two different pictures of mine since the background in the feather picture wasn’t exactly what I wanted it to be. So I used another one for the background itself. :- Link to a bigger version -: [link] Creation process: .Feather image: curves, contrast, unsharp mask, softened with one 25% opacity layer of g.blur at 30% to give it more “light - angelic” look. .Background image: curves, contrast, unsharp mask then whole layer set to “linear light” with dark-grayish color on the layer below and then used g.blur 2x times 20% if I remember right. .The end image size is 1605x3931 pixels. But for the portfolio and devArt I downsize each image to have maximum of “800 pixels width” and/or “800 pixels height”. That way the whole gallery gets continuity, same “feel” and “style” Anyways I hope you like it. Comments & critics :- Enjoy -: |

It looks like a down feather to me. I can see where one might have thoughts about their own past or lifestyle. In my opinion the first thing I thought about was something lost, adrift, but not in a negative way since the white gives it some kind of untarnished appearance, purity perhaps. I love this one lots, especially.
the background fits perfectly, until i read that you put it in i thought that it was just like that, its great.

don't think, feel
I guess the first moment I saw this feather lying on the asphalt; it reminded me of some sad moments in my past. You are right, it’s white and fluffish look would go better with something positive and happy. But I didn’t see it that way probably because of the melancholic mental state I was in at the moment. So I didn’t want change my first impression and the way it made me feel when I saw it for the first time. I guess it’s all about the perspective and how you look at it. People can associate the same picture with different thoughts and feelingsThanks so much for the comment Kelley and the +fAv. Its just amazing how you manage to find time and write comments with so many fans of yours. To be honest it makes me feel privileged.

Yea, the actual background wasn’t good at all (traffic lights and some cheesy buildings) since I took the picture in a hurry. And I wanted to give it more colour and especially the blue sky. In the last moment I decided to find one of my other pictures from the golf-course here in Stavanger (Sola) and use it for that purpose.
Anyways it was a good practice and I liked the challenge. Actually I managed to fit the background perfectly; it was able to stand there in its full sharpness without showing the retouch.
